The research work is aimed at isolating and characterizing tropho-functionally microbial (bacterial and/or fungal) strains with intense degradative capacity against hydrocarbons, aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic, polycyclic-aromatic (PAH) and heterocyclic-aromatic, from environmental matrices. The selected strains are distinguished by a pronounced biosynthetic capacity in terms of bio-surfactants under psychrophilic conditions. The isolated and characterized strains will be used in the formulation of a bioactivator for use in massive inoculation interventions for biological remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated environmental matrices under climatic conditions characterized by low temperatures.
