The research study involved the application, on a pilot scale, of a bioremediation practice for the treatment of sediment dredged from the hydrocarbon-contaminated seabed of the port of Livorno.
The main objective of the project is to develop an innovative, eco-friendly and adaptable solution for the decontamination and upgrading of dredged sediments. The process involves an initial sediment washing phase, followed by biological treatment aimed at reducing pollutants.
In this context, Eurovix provided microbial-enzyme-based bioactivators specifically formulated for the stabilization of treated sediments, thus contributing to the optimization of recovery processes and the reduction of environmental impact.
Through this activity, Eurovix supports the adoption of sustainable technologies for marine sediment management and recovery, promoting innovative approaches to protect coastal ecosystems.
