The research study involved a practice known as bioremediation on a pilot scale, of sediments dredged from hydrocarbon-contaminated seabed in the port of Livorno. The objective of the study is to provide an innovative, eco-friendly and adaptable solution for the decontamination and rehabilitation of dredged sediments based on washing them followed by biological treatment. Eurovix provided the microbial-enzymatic-based bioactivators for the stabilization of the treated sediments.
