The study involved a bioremediation project carried out in the port of Licata, Sicily, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact from bream farms in floating cages.

The port area involved in the experimentation has seabed depths of about 8 meters and is subject to accumulation of organic material due to intensive breeding activities.

To address this critical issue, Eurovix has developed and supplied a specific bioactivator tablet designed to:

• Promote the degradation of the organic component deposited on the seabed;

• Improve the environmental conditions of both the seabed and the water column;

• Promote the animal welfare of farmed fish, creating a healthier and more sustainable environment.

With this intervention, Eurovix contributes to the adoption of innovative biotechnological solutions for the sustainable management of marine ecosystems and the reduction of the environmental impact of aquaculture activities.
