Activation of an industrial doctorate in Sea Science and Technology, with the aim of improving the environmental conditions of the water mirror of Genoa’s Old Port. Especially during the summer period, precisely because of the presence of stratified sediments since historical times and incidental discharges, conveyed by the Rio Sant’Anna or minor effluents that flow into this area, bad odors are recorded, often caused by anaerobic putrefaction of sedimented organic matter, which causes the formation of toxic and foul-smelling gases such as hydrogen sulfide and methane. Eurovix intervenes in the study with the formulation of special experimental bioactivators based on microorganisms and enzymes that by their use contribute to lowering nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations, optimizing the natural processes of their removal and reducing the conditions of environmental degradation.
