As part of the European Horizon 2020 project CIRCLES (“Controlling mIcRobiomes CircuLations for bEtter food Systems”), Eurovix has isolated, identified and studied marine microbial strains characterized by high enzymatic activities.
The selected strains were characterized and their production on an industrial scale was deepened with the aim of including them in the formulation of bioactivators intended for fish farms.
These bioactivators are designed to degrade the organic component-such as feed residues and fecal materials-accumulated in the seabed near the rearing cages. Through this approach, they aim to make intensive aquaculture more sustainable by reducing the environmental impact of production activities.
