The BIOCHAR LATIUM project is dedicated to the valorization of biochar obtained from the recovery of waste woody materials from Lazio’s production chains.

The main objectives of the research project are:

• Experiment with biochar production from local waste materials;

• Evaluate the use of biochar as a soil conditioner for soil quality improvement;

• Promoting the activation of the biochar supply chain in the Lazio region.

In this context, Eurovix is involved in studying the effects and identifying the best ways to apply locally produced biochar, either alone or in combination with bioactivator mixtures, on:

• Soils poor in organic matter, to improve their fertility;

• Soils contaminated with hydrocarbons and heavy metals, to promote their recovery and redevelopment.

Through this project, Eurovix contributes to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable resource management and soil quality improvement while fostering the circular economy.
